Anantnag: A delegation of the Electric Employees Union on Friday visited the residence of Power Development Department (PDD) employee late Abdul Hameed Mir at Monghall, Anantnag, to offer condolences to the bereaved family. During the visit, Electric Employees Union Jammu and Kashmir President Nasir Ahmad Bhat, along with Vice President Engineer Waseem Ahmad, demanded a thorough and transparent inquiry into the circumstances that led to Mir’s death. The union leaders warned that in the absence of a serious investigation, such tragic incidents would continue to occur. They further cautioned that failure to order a proper inquiry could compel the union to resort to protests and even call for a shutdown across Kashmir. The union also appealed to the government to immediately rehabilitate the deceased employee’s family, stressing the need for financial assistance and suitable employment for his wife.
